Members of Rutherford High School’s Student Leadership Council, known as The Change Team, were at the Florida Capitol on Thursday, January 29th advocating for Community Partnership Schools. Their presence was a powerful reminder that students are not just participants in the education system, but active voices in shaping its future. By sharing their experiences and perspectives, these students highlighted how strong community partnerships can create meaningful, real-world support for schools and the families they serve.
Community partnerships are essential to building schools that meet students’ academic, social, and emotional needs. When students step up to advocate for these partnerships, it sends a clear message: collaboration matters, and change is possible when schools, communities, and policymakers work together. We’re proud of The Change Team for using their voices, modeling leadership, and showing what student-driven advocacy can achieve.
